What with:

Scuffs out of the box

Loose battery

Gaps around the screen

Glitchy display

Flexing display

And other problems I don't even know about.

I'm wondering if I should just cancel my order that is 4-5 weeks out and stick to my iPhone 4?

Having no Apple store in Ireland makes it a real PITA if there is a problem with the phone.

never had any of those, the people that post on here about those problems are maybe 1 out of every 500,000 phones.

Mines perfect. It's just a phone. After a month of use you wouldn't even care anymore. Probably just toss I around everywhere

There doesn't appear to be a consensus. Some have 1 of those issues, others 2, others all, and others have none of those issues. Pretty much every electronic produced today is produced for mass sale, so there never is a truly perfect device, regardless of manufacturer.

mines fine as well.

dont let a few threads on here scare you away.

is there not any retail stores that sell the iphone in Ireland?!

Mine and millions of others are perfect.
There is defective units that some people get stuck with but that happens with any major product.
Good thing Apple's service and warranty is top notch.

You won't regret the iPhone 5. It's a significant upgrade. It's faster, looks nicer (IMO), lighter, has better connectivity, and a slightly bigger screen. The issues noted are minor. I purchased 2 and both were flawless.

Only real problem in all phones and you leave it out... (Purple haze effect on the camera lens, although it's already been proven that it happens to any other phone, including the 4S). (Winner to the worst effect is the 4, there's a pic on these forums that is a huge LOL)

Sounds like all the normal hiccup you'd expect from running factories at full capacity while still being woefully short of demand.

Kind of like EVERY new blockbuster product that has QC issues while the manufacturing kinks are worked out. There is no way to run a full on stress test of a manufacturing process other than to actually run the process.

You'll see these issues phase out as the line is tweaked.

It's like people these days have no memory spans at all.....

You shouldn't cancel it. You have to remember people get on here to complain and vent and see what others say. So there are lots of people who love their new iPhone 5 but they aren't getting on here because they don't have anything to complain about as they see it working great. So don't let the negative things scare you away.

It is like the news, it is never the positives :(

I have had my iPhone 5 exactly one week and I am quite happy with it. I have had none of the problems that quite a few users have mentioned. I did put an Otter Box Defender case on my phone, so I am not worried about scuffing the anodized surfaces.

The two most notable differences that find between my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 is that the 5 is much faster. I live in an LTE area, so that helps. Also, the 5 is much lighter than my old 4.

The only negative that I have found so far is the battery life. It is not any better than my 2 year old iPhone 4. I have read that LTE is the cause of this, but i'm no expert on that.

Oh, right. They sold 5 million phones on launch so if your ratio is accuarate that is only 10 phones with problems. WRONG.

No Apple Store? just cancel your order unless you wanna drive to Victoria Square...
