It’s insanely unreliable in every way.
Bugs everyday even on the 15 Pro Max.
No excuse for such a rich company.

It's unstable but for me, ios13 was the worst. Had so many cases where apps would crash while i was taking notes in class and end up losing massive chunks of notes

I didn't update my main phone until 17.1.x and that has been running great, better than iOS 16.7.2 that I went from (13pro).
On test devices and early adopters at work earlier versions has been fine too, but we don't haven't had any iPhone 15 that we have been using so its a slightly different usecase.

Its always tricky to troubleshoot phone issues and its easy to blame the OS, not saying iOS isn't free of bugs but there can be a number of things that causes issues, apps, peripherals, settings etc.
Had an issue with both iOS 15 and 16 (could be 14 too) that nearly made me throw out my phone cuz of horrible stand-by time, this also made me swap phones from an XS to a 13pro, then someone in this forum hinted that the fitness app, if uninstalled, can cause the issues I had been experiencing.

I did reinstall apples fitness app and did a few other changes and all of s sudden my phone went from a bad experience to a pleasant one.

Above is just an example but a good one where I hated my new phone and that also degraded my battery fairly fast as I had to charge it more often. After the fix had been applied the "maximum capacity" has been steady, but it went from 100% to below 90% very fast initially.

My example also hints on how hard it is to troubleshoot some issues, I doubt many actually uninstalls the apps that comes with the phone so most prob didn't experience what I did.

Compared to what? Android? IOS 16? MacOS 14? Ipados? TVos?

Here's an interesting article from "Android authority" that even they admit, Apple is superior. Lots of things we forget about when in our Apple bubble--that includes me!

iOS 17 has been pretty stable for me overall. A couple of minor visual bugs here and there but pretty solid otherwise.

I have found IOS 17 to be very reliable. There's been a few minor things (mostly Carplay but better than IOS 16) but I'm not sure if it's (because) I have two numbers on my phone. The same problems were exhibited on IOS16 and 17....

I've been using iOS since iOS 2; 17 isn't even in the top 5 worst.

I've had pretty good luck 17. Battery is great, no crashes, everything works as it should, as far as I can tell.

So your phone does not show the correct time in the upper left corner? When you press the side button does the screen not turn off? Do the biometrics fail to work every time? I could go on but my point is you’re either suffering from overgeneralization or you have a defective device.. both of which can be remedied.

I haven't noticed anything bad on my 13. All I can really complain about is how it barely feels any different from iOS 16.

I have experienced minor bugs on my 15 Pro, but nothing debilitating that I can’t use the device. I feel there are bugs that come with each new major software update. iOS 17 is no different.

It’s fine for me. The only thing that irritates me is the sync issue to a Mac that stops on step 2 and never progresses unless you do a specific set of things that doesn’t always work.

17 has been pretty solid for me. Many of the issues I see in the forums are cosmetic glitches, not functional bugs. For a beta, I can live with that.
