Sorry, it was late yesterday and I forgot to reply. I did receive it and verified my disk and it resulted in "OK"....

Is there a difference if I run permission repair in Disk Utility vs. OnyX? The files in the folders seem fine tho - it was mostly pics in those four folders whose names got messed up.

If you have upgraded to SL, don't run OnyX. It is (at at least when I last checked) is not 100% SL compatible yet.

it do not seem that your Mac is hacked ..may be possible you download some kind of software from internet and it is result of that..so check your system again or repair your OS ....!

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the OP's issue has already been resolved, since this thread is 2 years old!

Those are very unspecific instructions, especially in a two year old thread, as GGJstudios likely already pointed out. But that is the curse of resurrecting old threads.
