With 128GB of storage and a 1080p screen, my 6 plus has definitely taken a huge chunk of my iPad Air's usage away. Watching movies on the iPad Air you have to remember is more like an 8.9" screen since it's a 4:3 aspect ratio whereas the iPhone 6 Plus is a 16:9 screen. In addition, the 401ppi of he phone makes the iPad Air's screen look like cr*p!

Currently I have the MacBook/iPad/iPhone combo, though I suspect in the future, I could possibly get rid of one device, most likely the iPad but possible the MacBook if the iPad Pro is really awesome.

I'd also be interested if one day Macs and iOS devices all used USB type C to charge, then I can consolidate my chargers even further. It is really nice to be able to have one cord be extremely versatile where it can do basically just everything!

yes it has. i had an ipad 4 / iphone 5 combo before. when the 6+ was announced, i preordered a 128 silver 6+ to use as my mobile computer. i have an old(ish) macpro that i use whenever i need to accomplish something my iphone cant, and that list continues to grow inexorably smaller.

i was recently in europe for a month and my iphone was all i needed. post-pc for the win.

Technically, no, since I sold my iPad Air a month or so before the 6+ came out. I realized that I was doing most of my casual browsing on my iPhone because it was always in my pocket. And anytime I wanted to do something work-related or that involved more than a few sentences worth of typing, I went to my MacBook instead of the iPad due to the physical keyboard. My iPad wasn't getting used very much and it seemed silly to spend several hundred dollars for a bigger screen to browse in Safari when my rMBP did the job about as well.

However, with the large screen on the 6+, the decision to make my iPhone my only mobile device has become way less painful. While a 5.5 inch screen isn't as nice for browsing as the 9.7 inch screen on the Air, it's at least big enough that everything doesn't feel super cramped in landscape mode (which was essentially useless on the 4 inch screen of the 5S). So, while the 6+ didn't technically replace my iPad, it probably would have if I hadn't already sold it.

for me i would almost. However, for in flight entertainment, and serious reading for exams or novels i am still using the iPad mini. So basically i am not buying any more iPad minis for the next few years

No all it made me do was sell my mini and get an iPad air 2. I love using my iPad air for web browsing. my 6 plus is still a phone, email device and a bit of time wasting for games.

I had the iPad Mini Retina which was too close in size to my 6 Plus so I gave it to a family member in exchange for their mini 1 which I sold. I eventually bought the Air 2 and am extremely happy with my setup ATM. The 6 Plus is the right size to do almost anything in a pinch, but my iPad can receive scans from my scanner which I can edit if I need to then move to OneDrive. iPad is better for text editing. I find myself watching YouTube more on my iPad then my iPhone.

iPad is still my go-to portable device for major tasks that are too big to do on my iPhone.

I've never owned an iPad. There's three around the house but they don't belong to me. I noticed I'm spending less time with my MBA though.

One of the main reasons I went with a 6 Plus (128gb) was to eliminate my need for and iPad altogether. I have found, however, that I still use an iPad frequently (at work, home, coffee shops, etc.). Now I'm thinking the 6 with an iPad is probably the better combo for me.

I'm curious how the Apple Watch will change my usage patterns. I can't imagine using all 3 other than at home maybe. I think it would be a little much to receive a notification on 3 devices.

I am thinking the same. I sold my iPad 3 because it was getting sluggish and I thought my iPhone 6 Plus could replace it. I ended up missing my iPad but still, I went with a Macbook Air 11" as its replacement. The Macbook is really nice but I miss reading PDFs and ebooks off the iPad. Now I find myself wondering if I should instead sell my Macbook and get the iPhone 6 and the iPad Air 2.

Having an iPhone 6 Plus and iPad just doesn't seem justifiable in my mind for some reason. The smaller phone, iPad, and PC Desktop has always been a good combo for me.

I haven't replaced my iPad with my 6+, but I do use it much less. I keep the iPad by my bed now for reading and email. I used to take it when I travelled, but now I prefer just taking the 6+.

The 6+ screen I find large enough to comfortably read ebooks and -- surprising to me -- for web surfing. With the previous iPhone screens I found using them for the web was more a novelty or a connivence -- but I find it actually quite useable on the larger screen now.

I find that I definitely use my iPhone 6 plus way more and my iPad Air much less. I could probably go two weeks witout charging my iPad. However, as much as I more utilize the Plus, I have a keyboard for my iPad and can answer work emails much faster so I wont be getting rid of the iPad any time soon.

While I only have the 6, I have noticed that my rMini sits on my nightstand more and more. I'll eventually sell it since I usually use my 6 in conjunction with my rMBP and that works really well for me.

I must say that I don't really use my iPad 2 anymore. Granted, it could also be because it is running pretty slow now. But, I at least used it more when I didn't have the 6 plus.

Update time. I watch way more videos on my iPhone than I used to since I got the Plus and got rid of the Mini. I even do some small thumbnail sketches now. That's the only thing I'm going to miss when I upgrade to the 6S. I just can't deal with the size of the Plus. I ended up getting an iPad Air 2. I like that size better for drawing anyway, although the screen tech doesn't work with my bluetooth stylus very well. I also use it as an external display with Duet and it works pretty well. So I still use an iPad, just for different things. What is interesting though is that I don't feel the need to grab my iPad as much when browsing the web, except that the low memory reload errors usually push me towards the beefier Air 2.

What I'm most disappointed in so far is the lack of apps updated for the 6 Plus, and that many 6 Plus apps don't make use of the larger screen space like some of the native apps do. Although you could argue that some of the native apps use of extra screen space is somewhat gimmicky—especially the keyboard, which I wish I could split like on the iPad.

Yes it has my iPad stays at home when I'm on the road and th 6 plus becomes my do everything device when I travel:D

Even my 6 (non plus) have replaced my 1G mini too. It's more a reason of speed, not due to screen size. I can do all things faster with my iphone.

No. I have an iPad mini 3, iPad air 2 and iPhone 6 plus. All have their own use cases.

The 6 plus is my go to device. I use it the most. Mainly for on the go web browsing, apps and listening to music. At home I'll use it if I want to quickly check something but for anything extended I use an iPad.

The iPad mini is use for my daily commute. I mainly use it to watch videos, play games and read comics whilst outside. At home I use it often in bed or when my iPad air is feeling too heavy.

The iPad air is used at home. I use it to watch videos, especially whilst cooking. For web browsing, reading comics etc.

I've been using large phones for almost three years so didn't think that the 6 plus would replace my iPad. When I first got the original Galaxy note in 2012 I thought it would be my all in one tablet and phone. However after a while I realised that it's just a phone. I got my first tablet in 2012 and I've always used a tablet alongside my phablets.

I did try using my 6 plus as a tablet on my commute for a few weeks but I quickly reverted back to using an iPad mini.
