Cant see any mention of it in the specs for the standard rez pros??
Engadget live blog says 13" kept opto
There's still an optical drive on the 13 and 15" non-retinas
Go the MBP page -> features -> click MBP 13in/15in banner -> scroll down. It talks about the Superdrive
Not according to the apple spec sheet ?!
But it does mention it on the features page !
of course its gone.
Agree , not seeing it here: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/13-and-15-inch/
Yet do here: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/features/13-and-15-inch/
Sucks. I'd rather have that extra weight.
If you try to buy the Retina MBP, they give you the option of buying an external SuperDrive. But if you try to buy a non-Retina MBP, there's no option to buy an external SuperDrive, so they would have to still have an internal SuperDrive.
It is there on the non-retinas - on the features page it even shows a picture of it.
Unsarcastically, some of us want it, to swap it out for a second internal drive.
13" and 15" are the same as before with spec bump and usb3. so no.
I know - I'm not saying it isn't a logical step from Apple's side, but I still buy a lot of CDs and DVDs, so it would have been a welcomed feature in my book.
Buying a non-Retina Macbook would be just silly IMO.
