I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Currently I'm iOS 17.7.

Ages ago, I never updated to 18, because of the negative comments about the Photos App. Now, when I check to see what updates are available, there is now the option for iOS 18.7.8 and iOS 26.5.

Has 18.7.8 been improved for the Photos app?

Since I have the 14PM, does anyone have any advice? Should I stay on iOS 17.7

iOS 26 is pretty good not had any problems with it on my 16 also it would bring your phone back up to speed with security patches and apps working better again on your phone

What specifically is the problem you’re concerned about?

Photos app is fine for me; I’ve stayed up to date all along. It CHANGES of course… some changes for the better, some maybe not depending on what you need & use. But this is a very personal metric; my opinion (or anyone else’s) about Photos “in general” is meaningless; YOU are the one that will be using it - not me.

“Should you update?” - absolutely, for security reasons.

“Do the security reasons override the problems you might perceive?” - ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I can’t decide that for you.
