Has the yellow spot issue been resolved?

It's nearing a week and a half after I got the phone and while the spots on the bottom have disappeared, there is a spot and a short line in the middle of the screen that comes and goes.

Any advice on what to do?

Thanks!

The yellow spots are related to a glue compound and once it compleatly dries (crystalizes) it becomes clear. They will not come and go.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

I have the same issue for over 2 weeks. I still have some light yellow color spots; however, it's almost gone. Will give it few more days to go off entirely.

There has not yet been an official confirmation by apple, and there are still people around who have reported that their yellow 'stains' have not yet disappeared.

So, no, i don't care about what your dad says, the issue, while not as 'dramatic' as initially believed, has not been 100% resolved, no.

Personally, I do not have the yellow spot problem. However, come 2 to 3 weeks, if it were still there and noticeable, I'd be dropping by an Apple store to get a replacement.

First i4 replaced due to light leak and yellow spot issue in lower left corner. Yellow spot became noticeable when i4 became hot, disappeared when cool. It did come and go, directly in relation to the unit's temperature. The light leak, however, was more bothersome. AppleCare sent an advance replacement unit via FedEx. New unit is as good as can be!

It is from bonding agent that glues the display to the glass. It wasn't given ample time to dry and therefore appears yellow. If you don't believe that, then why did it disappear? If it's a problem with the LCD, it won't disappear just like that. Also, my Dad works for a company that makes LCD panels and he confirmed that to me.

Thanks for telling me what I have on my screen after 15 days is no longer there. Im surprised that they are no longer there considering how much worse they got over time.

Yes, the issue can be resolved by going to your local Apple store and having them swap it out. I did, so I know they are doing it. It will be a no-box service replacement, but it's obviously new at this point. If you bought yours at a RETAIL Apple Store then they should be able to exchange for a new boxed retail one since you are still w/i your return period.

If the glue has not dried w/i a couple days of opening the box, sorry it's unlikely to dry. No sense in rubbing the rosary beads.

In an O2 store in the UK, while using a demo iPhone 4 on display, I noticed a large yellowish colour mark in the middle of the screen when safari was showing a plain white page. It was definitely the display that was as fault. But this unit has been out the box in use since launch, and the mark had not disappeared after 9 days of constant use.

2 weeks later and my yellow line is still there. It is more noticeable after using it for awhile. It is very annoying when viewing text in landscape mode. Anyone else still having that problem still?

Why are you posting here then? RUN to your local Apple Store and get it swapped. You've shown enough good faith in waiting for the issue to go away. It hasn't. Time for them to replace it for you.

The only thing is that it's not ALWAYS there for me...maybe before the appointment I'll leave it on all day running an intensive app.

Mine is no better after 11 days so Genius appointment booked for Wednesday. Here's hoping they have a replacement with a good screen...

They honestly wont care if its immediately visible. I told them my problem and they didnt even really look at it. I think its more of a trust factor...

Good to know, thanks. I have as long as I want to get it exchanged, right (since it's a manufacturer defect)?

Spoke to a genius yesterday and he said that apple will be issuing a statement soon about the yellow blotches, and that they will just be replacing the screens and not the whole phone. He said it should be soon, we'll see.

I'm in no hurry really, I know they're usually good with these things. What an odd issue.

My bottom right corner is a little yellow, it is very slight but it is there even after leaving the phone off for a day and turning it back on. I made a little wallpaper that will make it easier for the geniuses see because it is hard to see on an all white background (Your eyes adjust to the very slight color shift and it almost looks uniform, but when you have something breaking it up, you see the real color.)
