Nope. I still use a bunch of iPods, way back to 2nd gen nanos. Love 'em all. Love switching out what's on a 4GB nano with a whole new set of music maybe once or twice a year. It's a weekend project that's a lot of fun. I take one of those iPods along in the car usually.

The only iPods that I use "all the time" though are a 6th gen nano (music, radio), that skinny little tie-clip shuffle (music playlists), an 8GB 1st gen iPod touch (audiobooks and alarm clock), a 64GB iPod touch (movies and music videos, music, audiobooks), a Classic (operas, classical etc.), and one of those red and black jobs with U2 sigs on the back (rock / blues / jazz).

And a fat nano 3rd gen for TV shows I watch in the kitchen while I'm captive to something I can't walk away from on the stove.

Oh, and one of those original white shuffles that look like a USB stick. Those darn things have one of the best audio chips of any iPod. That gang at Apple, they were really smart to do that. I heard the amazing sound out of that little piece of white plastic and bought a couple more of them as gifts. I still use mine when I'm in the studio and forgot to bring the nano or my iPhone along. It still seems to hold a charge forever. Apple forgot to include any "planned obsolescence" in that little white shuffle, that's for sure.

Still have my 160GB Classic to hold my entire music collection if I feel like listening to an entire album or something some days. I keep a few playlists on my iPhone 4S and maybe a few of my newest songs.

I don't see any point in someone having an iPhone and an iPod Touch though since the Touch is an iPhone without the phone part.

I haven't used an iPod since getting the iPhone, I don't see the point in carrying two devices around when one works just as well.

i dont think an iphone can replace an iPod classic! but I can't justify buying one :( since i use spotify and pandora these days

When I got my iPhone I gave my iPod to my mom and I haven't really missed it. The only thing that annoys me is running out of space. I have a huge music library and I only have the 16GB iPhone. I really don't see the point in carrying 2 items that do essentially the same thing.

Replaced my iPod? Not a chance. I've got thousands of tracks of music on my classic.

It's great. Having a dedicated iPod just for music is a great fit for my style.

My classic and touch haven't been used since I got my iPhone. I used my shuffle for about a week at the gym, but then decided I wanted to listen to pandora so I haven't touched it since.

Well I keep a lot of favorite movies and a few Frontline TV shows on the iPod touch. It gets something added to it now and then but hardly ever gets reloaded. Bit and pieces of everything else (app data, books, PDFs, music, recent purchases of TV / movies and a few favorites) go on the iPhone.

Stuff on the iPhone gets swapped out and replaced. I love starting from scratch and building a new "what's on yer iPhone?" every so often. New everything from ringtones to "old favorite" books or movies. And I leave a lot of room on the thing so it doesn't get bogged down.

The iPod touch with its more stable content is my comforting go-to theatre for those completely unexpected and unwanted entertainment opportunities. You know, like having to meet a plane that is suddenly delayed or diverted AFTER I've checked flight status and headed for the airport. I love watching movies that I've already seen on an iPod touch. Meanwhile the iPhone stays free for whatever else could be going on. Calls, texting, sudoku... man I hate waiting around airports for late planes. The more distractions, the merrier.

Well this thread turned out to be quite interesting lots good ideas to make use of older iPods etc. even though I have a 4s cant wait to see the new line of iPods might go for a nano for a change never had one thanks ppl :)

Personally, a touchscreen will never fully replace the click wheel for pure music use in my opinion. I keep an iPod Classic in my car and I can control the entire thing without looking at the screen, you simply cannot do that with the touchscreen. But the iPhone goes everywhere, the iPod does not. It has replaced it simply because I take the iPhone everywhere, but for pure music use the iPod will always be king.

As I mentioned earlier, there's simply no replacing the iPod Classic for me unless the iPhones increase to a real amount of space (200GB would be great!).

For now, I generally leave my Classic in the car, only bringing it in once a week or so to update playlists and such. Quite simply, I drive far too much and never know what kind of music I'll be in the mood for at any given time, so it's great to have it all on me just in case.

It also helps that my car's stereo has an iPod hook-up and, while it will connect to an iPhone to play music, it won't charge it as it does with the Classic.

No... i still use iPod. When I'm going to be away from my iTunes library for a few days or in situations where I want to have ALL of my music with me (going to a party for example, where it's fun to just plug in the iPod and let other people pick what they want to play). And the advantage of having a separate device is that a phone call will never interrupt your flow (unless you choose to take the call)....

The iPod touch was my first intro into Apple iOS devices and it's what sold me on the iPhone.

Now, I keep my iPod touch at home in the speaker dock to stream wifi and play tunes/radio either on the back porch, basement or garage.

My 32gig iPhone has my entire music collection on it (25 gig or so), so that's always with me.

I had roughly 45 Gigs of music when I got the Original iPhone... So I kept my iPod Classic for a while. When I got the iPhone 3G a year later, I also bought a new MacBook Pro, which came with a free iPod Touch. At this point, I was only using my iPhone for music so I sold both the iPod and iPod touch.

I still have an old iPod Mini. It wont hold a charge for more than a couple minutes. I leave it in my car for Audiobooks. I have an iPod Shuffle for running and when I go to the gym.

Still have a 120gb Classic with everything on it, but my 4S is probably in the dock (or car) more than 90% of the time. Sold my 32gb Touch when I got the iPhone.
