I'm still waiting for my MBP to be delivered. I was told today but they've shipped it by road from Arnhem. Bit frustrating really and the TNT consignment tracker has been updated a handful of times so I'm having to keep ring them up to get an update.

So monday then. Not too impressed but I'm away this weekend anyway.

Finally, I have UPS tracking too:

Type: Package
Shipped to: DUBLIN
Shipped or Billed on: 14/06/2007
Service Type: STANDARD
Weight: 5.90 Kg
Multiple Packages: 2

NUNEATON,
GB 15/06/2007 0:56 EXPORT SCAN
15/06/2007 0:55 ORIGIN SCAN
15/06/2007 0:33 IMPORT SCAN
GB 14/06/2007 20:53 BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

It's scheduled for delivery on Monday. If it gets to Dublin by tonight I might drive over to the UPS depot and pick it up myself tomorrow, if they allow that.

6 Kilos seems a bit light to me too - I have a printer as well as the MBP.

ring them

they told me if mine was delivered today and there was no one in to collect it that i could ring them back up, and tell them i am coming to pick it up from the depot on saturday morning. they are open sat, only on the morning though. but you do need to tell them you are coming.

It's here and it's sweet! Thx for all the support the last couple of days, me and my nerves are glad the waiting is over. For everyone still waiting, hang in there, it's worth the wait many times! (Woohoo, I'm a true Apple convert now!)

FEDEX shipping

I've been tracking my system (destination-Henderson i.e. Las Vegas, NV). Shanghai to Anchorage to Indianapolis to Memphis to Las Vegas (8:22 am 6/12 to 7:18 pm 6/14). According to FEDEX all international shipments go through customs in Memphis before being routed to the appropriate hub for final delivery. I was able to have FEDEX hold the delivery at a local station so I could pick it up myself instead of having to wait at home for the delivery truck.

well all i can say is, if yours is coming via UPS, then you neednt worry

UPS seem to be quite efficient, seemingly getting my MBP to me in about 1 day (plus the lady on the phone was a great help) and the tracking number worked immediately

well that was when i got up but it cant of been issued too long before then. the tracker worked straight off the bat, and updated in a timely fashion as well.

UPS are well oiled it seems.

My FedEx tracking just got updated:

Ship date
Jun 14, 2007

Estimated delivery
Jun 19, 2007 by 10:30 AM

Mine says the exact same thing.... my MBP is currently in transit from CN (Jun 15, 2:16pm)

Hopefully it will get delivered tuesday, im skipping class that day!

Cheers for that. I rang them but my delivery won't arrive in Dublin until very early on Monday morning, so no dice. If the delivery had gone UPS Express it would be here now, but Apple have gone for the cheapest option. Still, I can't complain too much, it's arriving 3 days before the originally quoted date of next Thursday.

Good luck with your new MBP tomorrow.

ARGHGGHGHGHGH!

Called the local TNT office.

It's still in Arnhem.

Apparently it's such low priority that they ahve to wait for other stuff before they'll move it and even then it's coming by road.

Might be Monday.

Maybe.

I will never use the Apple store again.

I can finally join the club over here!

"Shipped on: Jun 15, 2007 via FEDERAL EXPRESS"

Mine left Shanghi at about noon their time. It should be here in the U.S. sometime today I'm guessing. I wonder if they do Saturday deliveries in my area. (I am pretty sure they don't). :( Then again, my delivery date is showing the 19th. Oh well, I'll be anxiously waiting for Monday I guess!

So my 'NL DISTRUBUTION CENTER' tracking updated. to
MANIFESTED C-XXXX VEN-TNT, so it should be @ TNT-tracking any second.
(and then being delived on monday)

Damn apple should be more carefull choosing cariers.
before i could track this NL DC. it took me like 30 minutes, it only runs in internt exploror. so i booted my (un-used) Windows laptop. guess what, my wireless didn't work.. cost me 2 reboots and finaly the solution was:

1) Walk outside to another
2) Connect to another network
3) Walk back
4) Connect to my own netwerk
5) Up & running, how fast & smooth, i LOVE windows. Damn

Complete farce...

I wouldn't have minded had Apple given us shipping options and I had elected to go with the lower priority shipping, with full knowledge of what that entailed.

When I spoke to them this morning they said it was in Edinburgh and should be delivered today (it hasn't yet though)

On the dutch apple website they say that all orders above 300 euro have free 'express' shipping, so this means: 'lowerst priority shipping'. i'm wondering what they do with the 100-300 euro orders, sent them with a chinese walker or something?

Sssshhh! Don't give them ideas... ;)

17" MBP 7600RPM disk and HD screen ... sweet!

My MBP just turned up today, 10 days earlier than Apple said it would. All I can say is that the wait was worth it. This laptop is schmick!

Hold on all you guys that are waiting. it will be worth the wait I assure you.

17" MBP 7600RPM disk, 4Gb RAM and HD screen :)

Oh right 'cos the TNT person said the consignment was a batch.

Oh well I suppose it will turn up sometime, except it means I can't book time off to pick it up as I have no idea when it's going to show.

Pick up date 09 Jun 2007

Great no move here either. Once this is all finished I'll be sending a mail to as many Apple managers as possible. Its the lack of communication that is annoying. Luckily I am at home day in day out looking after the kids, I feel for those who have wasted their work holidays waiting for deliveries that never arrive. Bad Apple.

Update

I really hope so. Fedex doesn't show an estimate yet, but I'm sure it will in a few hours. I'd love to get my precious lappy on Monday. :)

mac2be, here is the latest for my shipment. Showing June 20th. Hopefully it will arrive sooner than that, but if not, the 20th isn't bad. I'll be interested to see if yours is on the same shipment.

So how long do it take to get from the EDC to the carrier? Anyone know??

It depends on a number of factors:
Are you in the UK/Ireland or Europe?
Is your delivery from the factory with TNT or Kuehne&Nagel?
What colour shirt is Steve Jobs wearing today?

That said, 2-3 days from EDC to courier seems to be the norm.

By way of example my delivery is to Ireland, and my delivery is by Kuehne&Nagel and UPS. It took 2 days to get from Amsterdam to Walsh Western in Hinckley, although going by the ETA on Apecode it was expected to take 1. It then took most of another day to switch to UPS.
