Books was a nice simple clean app and now it is ??? Even when I'm reading a book - go out of the app and back in it tells me I have no books I'm currently reading and thus goes to the complex front page.
When I select the book I'm reading - it brings me to a list of all the books from this author and I have to find the one that I have started. Maybe it is some settings - Instead of letting me read - it wants to sell me. Similar to apps app - clear and easy is gone.
I'll probably get used to it but....

Yeah it's really *** at the moment but I think we will get used to it. Same as with Talent tree in Dota 2 :D

Odd, I don't have any of these problems.

Me neither and it syncs perfectly between my iPad and my X. I've been using it since Public Beta 3. If I'm reading a book, it immediately takes me to the last read page when I open either device.

I actually love the new interface. Makes finding books much easier and I've been recommended some great books based on my reading history.

For me the best app is Marvin, it seems the developer is not supporting it but still one of the best apps out there for reading with.

One thing that bugs me in iBooks is how difficult it is to get the series order for those books that are in fact a
"series"... I like to read the first in the series and so on.

Is that improved in Apple Books? How does it work? I hope Apple didn't **** everything up with this revised format for Apple Books.

Sounds like your app has very strange issues. Mine is fine. Are you able to find your books in your library?
Don't think I explained my problem well enough. I don't have a lot of "issues" just the weird way iBooks sorts books etc.

I'm still on iOS 11 and it's just a pain when sorting books to find the correct "series order" say the Jack Reacher series. I do it but its awkward. Sometimes you get books in other languages and it's just not intuitive. All I want is an easy way to show the "Series Order" so I can read the books in order.

The question is, how does Apple Books handle this. Any improvement?

This lack of syncing to my MacBook on High Sierra is irritating.

@^^BIGMac,

For me, the book store shows in small print what number in the series it is. Also, when you get to the end of the book that's part of a series it puts that book and the next one in their own group so you can see what you have to purchase next to keep reading.

I also hate highlighting because it looks so messy. I just use Adobe Acrobat reader since it works much better. Apple Books was designed by designers... not people that love to read.

I love the Apple platform but there are many apps that are just bad and I need to replace. Music app is bad so I use Cesium. News app is crap so I go to the web. Podcast app is unintuitive and frustrating so I use Downcast. Althogh now that podcast supports the apple watch I may need to try to use it again. And the iBook app is really annoying as well.

So not too many fans of the new "Apple Books" app?

Seems it is probably a situation that will take some getting used to. Then all will be good with the world.

Don't fight it. Apple knows what is good for us. :D

Once upon a time, I could rely on iBooks for pdf file management and reading. Then iBooks went toy-like and I have bought two pdf processing apps. These purchases generate profit for the app developers - and Apple as well. Perhaps pushing the customers to buy more apps is behind Apple’s motivation of strippig iBooks of useful functions. Music app is another victim of greed.
