Have an old iPad4 and am thinking about replacing it with the new iPadPro 12.9 inch, just what can i expect from this new iPad against my older iPad4?
I know with the new processor it will be faster, but do you think it really is a really great deal making thing?

It should be a huge difference. When I went from a 4 to an Air2 I was amazed at how much better everything worked plus the screen looked so much better. Going from a 4 to a 12.9pro should be night and day difference..

Have you looked at the iPad Pro page already? That should highlight the most important aspects and features. The iPad Pro is more than two years in the market with one revision released already. Main features like amount of speakers and the pencil and Smart Cover support are documented all over the net. If you are unsure, buy one from a place with a good return policy and send it back if you don’t like it.

I am mostly wanting to know how it is working with web sites, and how stable it is, and how it has held up in hands of users.
Has there been any really big improvements in the upgrades of this Apple iPad?

Why the 12.9” version?

It’s massive, so unless you specifically want the larger size for a specific use I’d look at the smaller models.

Given you’re coming from an iPad 4 I’d be questioning the need for the pro model. The standard iPad 2017 model is significantly better than an iPad 4.

Good advice that might be just what i really need the 10.5 inch iPad Pro.

Everything is as expected...faster processor, better camera, higher resolution, improved connectivity. lol That's what they say when a new device comes out.

I don't remember being able to handoff on my iPad 3rd Gen. That's one thing that stands out for me. Everything else is a bump. The iOS 11 is definitely a plus. My 3rd Gen went through 4 different iOS. I loved iOS 5 but of course Apple deleted features that stood out from the other devices. Now with iOS 11 they gave the users a few features that stand out which is not available for the 3rd Gen iPad.

I chose the 10.5 iPad Pro over the 2017 9.7 iPad because I wanted a little more bump up from my 9.7 inch iPad. The screen on the 10.5 is the size of a composition book. Also, if you take half to the screen of a 15in MBP, you get the screen size of a 10.5in iPad Pro, give or take a few centimeters. Oh I did compare the sound connected my Bluetooth speaker and the iPad Pro was surprisingly louder and better.

Speed, Pro motion, smart connector is basically is what cost more. Overall its a nice upgrade. $150 difference between the Pro models. If you look at the 2017 iPad vs 10.5 Pro, its about $9 difference that's if there was a 64GB version of the 2017 iPad.

All the stores are today in a real mad house with people, returning or trying to also many lookers so i think it's best to wait till after the new year to go out looking at the new iPads.

I had some time today so i went to BestBuy and looked at the 10.5 iPadPro it was not connected on line to the Net. so could not do much testing, also after just messing around with it for over half an hour not one BestBuy sales monkey ever asked if i needed anything. BestBut is not the best place to really get any good answers, i will be going to the local Apple store in a few days, i will feel better buying from the Apple store then from BestBuy.

You’ll get great split screen multitasking and much smoother performance thanks to that 4GB ram and screen resolution being adaptive.

One item i did notice is the quality solid metal build that is found in my iPad2&4 is not to be found in the thin non metal iPad Pro. Feels like a thin plastic plate whem i held it today.
Is there a really good battery inside it?

It will be like magic... sinceriously though, it will be night and day. The screen update alone will blow you away. The speed, power, better weight, incredible speakers, refresh rate, HDR, brightness, size, and added accessory use will be night and day.
The new Pros are most definitely PC replacements and iPad power houses yet still do all the stuff you’re used to, and tons more.

Are you saying you think the build quality/aluminum frame feels less strong than your 2 and 4? The new ones actually are just as strong. The batteries are also just as good or better.

I made the same move 6 months ago, it’s a totally new experience. I went with 12.9 LTE. I was quite blown away with it’s screen, which is amazing. It is quick, the multitasking works well. It replaced both iPad 4 and a MacBook Pro. I still have a desktop for sit down work. I use it for a design business in the field. Floor plan, rendering and drawing with Apple Pencil. It’s more efficient and clients are comfortable seeing images on the larger screen. It’s also a kickass media consumption device, great on planes and travel. I almost went with 10.5 as it seems huge, after a day or so I adjusted. After 3 months the MacBook Pro got no love so I sold it to a student. The iPad 4 given to a young niece.

I will give the iPad Pro a much closer looking, it does look very thin is it aluminum? as it did not look like it was a metal.
And thanks for your reply.
