Maybe it is me, and the fact that I am not in the first flush of youth; or maybe it is that I am female. Maybe it is the fact that I have always worn spectacles, and spectacles and violence rarely mix happily. However, even as a child, I detested violence, and never thought it an appropriate way of addressing problems; indeed, and even as a child, I disliked those who gloried in it.
We live in a society that entertains itself with MMA, video games with a ton of violence, and non-stop action movies. Not really surprising that this type of stuff starts seeping into the psyche of people.
And what if you lived in a neighborhood where you were bullied, and there was fighting...but you didn't?
Is that still privileged?
That just means you're antisocial.
Ah, no. I beg to differ. Rather, it means that 'you' simply dislike, and disdain and decline physical combat and physical conflict. What is there not to like in that? Moi, I approve wholeheartedly.
See...here in the US, abjuring physical violence is considered unmanly. Violence is the proof of being a real man.
Somehow I'll learn to live with my wussy-hood...
