Have you Ever Googled your Name?

Out of bordom, I decided to google my name... I got almost 2 million results :eek:

Got freaked out! After going through some of them, I didn't see any that had me in particular, seems my name is pretty generic. Whew.

Has anyone else done this?
 
I've done it, but what is really weird is to see that someone has visited your site because they did a Google search for your name and then clicked onto your site (which is the first result for my name, yay!). You wonder if they are looking for you or if they are googling their name. I guess it freaks me out because I have only ever seen or met a handful of people that spell their name like I do (Kory).

I share my name with a porn star — however, some of my design work (mostly free publications) is available online as PDFs and so my name turns up pretty quickly which is why I'm so reticent to give my name out freely because my place of work would then be obvious.
 
I Have and it was.....

I have "googled" my own name down to the initials and it was scary because I thought my name was unique since it was in vietnamese and american. I also thought I was the only in my own state but I was wrong also. Goes to show you how big this planet really is.

I'm the only one in the whole world with my name, so only a few pages that refer to me come up. It's not that I have a strange first name, but my last name is Italian and not common even in Italy. So combine that with an English first name, and, well...
 
15,400 hits with my name in quotes, guess is not all that unique of a name after all. whew.
 
Yep. Definitely. There are a few other Dave Mungers around, including one who I am just about completely opposite to politically. Fortunately, I turn up first in Google :D.
 
I apparently share my name (which is fairly common) with a musician, so there are a ton of links if I do a search by name only. However, if I enter my company name as well (I've done a lot of industry stuff) then it's narrowed down quite a bit.

Well, it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. I'll volunteer to carefully comb through search results for porn stars until I can identify who you really are. So I may not be posting for awhile. ;) :eek:
 
well my friend's dad googled my name without her consent when she said she was going to the movies with me and was reading my reviews on epinions.com....hahaha after that i googled mine to see what came up :p
 
I've done it before.
493 without quotes - Only the 1st 3 are actually me.
3 with quotes (ironically, only 2/3 are found in the first post)
 
I googled my name in quotes, I got 816 hits. Granted, my name is fairly unique. The search results grow each time my name is mentioned in an article.

People tend to misspell my last name quite often, from that I got 88 hits.
 
it's bad when you're not naked to yourself, but you're naked to the world, ain't it?




my hits have gone up since i last checked. great... some interesting things though i guess. no longer just high school math clubs. probably good since i can't do math anymore
 
There are a surprisingly large number of hits for my name - 10,400 with quotes - considering I have never met anyone outside of my family (ie. further than 3rd cousin) who has the same surname as me.

And they're a surprisingly talented bunch, writers, physicists, musicians, artists. Making me feel a bit inadequate.

The first actual entry for me is halfway down the second page.
 
One friend of mine gets some disturbing pictures of his father playing Real Tennis, and another get's 96 pages of gay porn results :p

I get... 121,000 and 41 images, including http://www.bardsleycustomknives.com/ :p

EDIT: Dad appears in a band with Mick Thompson on bass (might be the Slipknot Mick, might be someone else)
 
11,800 hits for my name in quotes. The first is the name of a Realtor
in St. Louis with the same name as me. Most of the others are to me (due to lots of photography
and 3d photography postings over the years).
