The original Siri app had agreements with MovieTickets.com, RottenTomatoes, and the New York Times. I do hope Apple maintained all of these relationships and did not decrease functionality. Apple has a pretty strong agreement with RottenTomatoes though, their reviews are used on iTunes, so I expect it to be available/integrated in the iOS Siri.

Since none of those are being currently touted as features on Siri, I'd be surprised if they were still included.

I think I remember reading that one hands-on said that he was disappointed that Siri couldn't find showtimes for movies.

Sadly, I fear you may be right. They probably announced every third party that they're currently working with.

It's going to go nuts though once third parties have APIs to use Siri. Then suddenly Siri can do everything the iPhone can do. Awesome.

I've always wanted a bot that I can communicate with like the movie that Robin William starred in. I forget the name.

Personally, I'd rather not give Siri the permission to initiate a call without me specifically instructing it to do it, right at that time.

Talk about privacy problems!

*siri auto-dials based on command prior*

man: *whistling*
wife on phone: hello? helloo?
man: *speaks to self* dayum that's one fine piece of ***
wife on the phone: WHAT THE !@#)$ A@)#($*@#$ #$@
man: hmm.. that sound.. sort of screechy and seagull-like. familiar in a.. very eerie way
wife on phone: @)!$(*@# $)*(@#*%)#$@(%
man: HOLY ****! SIRI OFF! TURN OFF! *smashes phone on the floor*

*weeks later, man goes to apple store complaining about fragile iPhone, "only dropped it from 5cm onto carpet floor man"*

bicentennial man? loved that movie! :)

Nice

People who say this is just like any other voice command deal are nuts.

Having used the app quite a bit, I can say it's quite remarkable. And I can't even imagine how great it's going to be tied into the OS.

The bottom line:

When Apple rolls out a major new feature, they don't mess around. They bring their A-game every time.

Like they did with Ping? :D

I'm looking forward to the day when Siri will respond to "fling the bird at the pigs".
