It will surprise me if it actually arrives today.
I was one of the people who couldn't get into the Apple Store app or website until 30 minutes after the pre-order window opened. When my order finally was complete I got two confirmations with two separate order numbers. How could this happen with a single phone number? Anyway, I went back to sleep and called Apple the next morning. They had no idea why the duplication occurred, but suggested canceling one of the orders and assured me that the remaining order would be unaffected.
Well, after nearly two weeks of "Order Processing" and another call to Apple (who again assured me that everything was okay), I received a call on a Sunday afternoon from Apple asking me to cancel and reorder. This seemed extremely phishy so I confirmed and reconfirmed the caller's identity. It was legitimate; they provided my order number and didn't ask me to click any links or visit any site other than https://www.apple.com/. After the cancel-and-reorder I was assured that I'd still get my original delivery window of November 17-24.
