Apparently it's called a "Kentucky shower" (glad Kentucky has something they can be proud of! lol j/k). The end of the vid is genius too!

I tried it last night and holy crap! I can't believe I've been taking regular showers my entire life. Even light beer tastes great in the shower! And the hot/cold thing going on is a truly unique feeling. Of course, cant' do this every day but I'm thinking of maybe doing it every Friday night to end the work week to celebrate.

Who else has done this? Am I the last to know about this glorious ritual?

I take drinks in the shower on occasion (from beer, to wine, to mixed), and if we're enjoying the Jacuzzi tub, there's _always_ beer or wine involved :D

Nah, it doesn't really work for me, no matter how often I've tried. Just end up getting a mouth of hot water or loads of liquid in my pint glass (Guinness is my poison). So instead I boil-wash until I'm like a lobster, which makes that first cold sip even more refreshing.

Of course I've considered it -- showering is using up valuable drinking time. :p

I don't drink at all, but lived in the Pike house for a semester in a half while I was in college.

There was a refrigerator in the bathroom(one bathroom per floor) stocked with beer and one of the shower stalls was always unuseable because it was stacked too high with beer cans.

No, I never partook(again, life-long teetotler) but for what it's worth I did go to a small college in Central Kentucky.

You have to plan, and have proper shelving installed :) An alternative, for those with a walk in shower, keep it just outside the curtain or door.

Bold = :D

For one thing, I wear glasses - and showers - while very enjoyable, tend to be quite functional, as the shower, for obvious reasons, is one of the places one cannot wear one's spectacles.

... but you don't need glasses to drink a beer (I'm speaking from beer-in-the-shower drinking experience) :D

If focussing on the taps (faucets to you guys) is a challenge, - and it is - I have stood in bathrooms, wearing nothing but my glasses, trying to figure out where things were and how they worked, before embarking upon the adventure of a shower, - even hoping that you might be able to see the beer certainly is.

I don't want a challenge in the shower, or to be presented with any sort of multi-tasking; I want reassuring familiarity, large soft towels close by, and a guaranteed cascade of hot water that I am able to turn on and off as needed. Besides, I'm a coffee in the morning person; for some strange reason, beers don't offer quite the same allure before the afternoon hours.

Hmm, I get you. My bathroom's a little cramped though, so I don't quite have the facility. Yet.

I guess I could get my hands dirty and install some shelves. Still, if I can't go into the shower for 30 minutes without getting the DTs, (any relation to your username? :D) I guess I've got more of a problem than some shelving!

I have never taken a beer into the shower. I have had a beer shower though.

Great video. The host belongs in the movies. :)
However, I was scarred for life growing up with Bud so I think his choice in beer is piss poor. :p

'Hashtag' two? Not sure I even understand the reference. What do you mean?

That is not an example of problem solving, rather, it is adding further to my confusion.

Number two, as is ordinal 2, the second, figured I'd go ahead and suggest a _second_ shower, since that was probably a blocker to "take an evening shower" (i.e., "but I already had a morning shower").

:D

Ah, I see.

Thanks for the explanation. I hadn't understood what you meant.

Hahaha, yeah, my re-read of my post was a bit of a head scratcher, I had to figure out what the heck I was talking about (I get a little ramble-y on forum posts ...)

Speaking of drinking in the shower, this beautiful hotel we stayed in back in March, NYC, down near the financial district had an amazing shower (you know, one of those huge walk ins, with multiple jets, rainfall overhead outlets, a big glass frame around the upper section), but one of the notable things I remember: cup holders :)

I meant to reply to this too! before my eyesight got to its current state, I never considered the issue with a hot *steamy* shower + glasses. I've had a number of instances where the conditioner and shampoo have matching packaging, and, well, it hasn't worked out a few times (but wow, was my hair REALLY conditioned ...)
