I only use my phones caseless. I have never liked cases or screen protectors. Or seat covers for cars. Or anything like that. What’s the point of “protecting” something if you never use it the way it was meant to be used?

Just use your phones out of the box and enjoy life. If you’re worried, buy AppleCare.

I do this when my phone has no trade-in value and I want a new phone. Usually within about 3 to 4 days it’s non functional 🤷‍♂️😂

I had the iPhone 6 for nearly 3 years (1 month shy of). When I have my phones for longer periods of time, I tend to ditch the case once I hit the 2 year mark and I'm fairly confident that I'll be getting a new phone soon. I had a two year payment plan. Once that monthly installment plan was done, I ditched the case.. and that's when I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. Luckily, I had mobile insurance and was able to got it replaced. I had it for more months after that then I got an iPhone X.

Always caseless. What’s the point of buying the best phone money can buy, with superb attention to design, only to cover it in some cheap crass Chinese plastic box?

the only thing is the shiny sides of the Pro line are so ugly, I’m gonna have to stick to the non Pro until they fix it.

I’m too much of a klutz, and Apple likes to make their phones like bars of soap.

I've used my phone without a case since the 6S. I've had two broken screens in that time: one on the 6S in 2016, and one on my 11 pro just a few weeks ago. I guess I just think the potential of having to fork out $80 for a new screen through AppleCare is worth the experience of using the phone naked.

I plan to use my 13 Pro without a case too!

Depends on the phone. My iPhone X was too slippery bare, so I've used it with a case near-exclusively. But my prior iPhone 7 I used caseless about half the time. I'll have to see how the 13 Pro feels before deciding - but I did get a case, just in case. :p

My iPhone 6s Plus is caseless. I had one of those ultra-thin cases and it left scuffs so I gave up (my phone was already a couple years old at that time) and went caseless. It has been dropped since then and definitely shows it.

For my 13 Pro Max I decided to go back to the bulkier Apple leather case like the one I had with my iPhone 5s. That case did a decent job with protection and didn't leave scuffs.

…..for a longer time?

On some days I use my 11 Pro Max ceaseless but it’s only if I am at home lol, would not leave the front door without my phone having a case. I get a little OCD about fingerprints on the phone though so prefer to keep it in the case, especially because the case I use also has a sliding camera cover to ensure I don’t smudge the camera lenses.

I have been thinking about going ceaseless with my future Graphite 13 PM. I will get a screen protector… that’s it.

Been caseless on every phone I've ever owned (part from the early 2000s when you could change the whole fascia on your Nokia to Homer Simpson with yellow keys). 😆

Never smashed a single one until I dropped my 12 Pro Max in the garage earlier this year and smashed the rear glass. Thats when I put an Apple Leather case on to protect my fingers and stop the glass peeling.

Probably going to go caseless again on the 13PM but may get another leather case for when I'm going somewhere high-risk (like the garage!)

It’s funny to me that some people think it’s a rarity to find someone not using a case.

I haven’t for over 8 years, and never will.

I think I dropped my iPhone 5 on day 2 of ownership and it got a nasty dent - every phone since has had a case!

But I don’t bother with screen protectors - even my wife who keeps her phone in her bag (purse in US parlance) doesn’t bother with a screen protector and hasn’t had any issues with scratched screens. Mine lives in pocket by itself when being carried around.

The only time I’ve ever cracked a screen it was in my inside jacket pocket and as I turned round in an office chair the phone was caught between my desk and the arm of my chair and it cracked.

Haha. Never thought of the garage as a high-risk area.

In fear of screwing up the stainless steel sides that might not get replaced if dropped(and the fact that I carry my phone around like 90% of the time), I usually only go caseless sometimes in the winter when I have a jacket with pockets that zip.

That way I know its not falling out in those high-risk zones as mentioned above.

This thread has brought a tear of joy to my eye. This is where my people have been hanging out. :)

It is so refreshing to see people using their devices without hyperfocusing on keeping it in pristine condition like it is some priceless Fabergé egg.

What about using a clear skin on the back? Is there some benefit to improved grip? Scratch protection? Would that even be considered "caseless"? ;)

All the time, I always buy a case buty only ever use it if I think I am going to be doing something riskier than normal (usually if I am out having a drink!) Otherwise I am 100% caseless. I have had some battle scars along the way but not many and I just like uisng them as nature intended.
