Have you seen 8800GTS(g80) and HD2900XT for Mac pro(1,1-5,1)? Just now I saw them on an online store.
As I konw, the video cards for Mac pro(1,1-5,1) are 7300gt, 8800gt(g92), HD2600xt, X1900XT, Quadro FX 4500, Quadro FX 5600, GT 120, HD 4870, HD 5770, HD 5870(These are listed in Mac pro page on wiki), GTX260, GTX285, GTX680 and HD7950.
I have never seen 8800GTS(g80) and HD2900XT for Mac pro before. But these two cards seem to have the features of Mac pro video cards. For example, they don't have the VCD port.
Can that be ture? Or I am just ignorant?

You are right, they are not original Mac cards. I guess they are flashed PC cards.

I was wrong. My apologies.

But if they are flashed PC cards, where to get the roms? I have never seen the roms for 8800GTS(g80) and HD2900XT.

Very interesting find. Where did you find them? Could you post a link?
Lack of S-video port does not necessarily mean that these are Mac cards, but they could be of course.

Non public Mac ROMs do exist, so not much of an issue here.

2900 one is especially interesting. This is 2900XTX aka Dragonhead 1. 1GB power hog which couldn't catch 8800GTX performance no matter how high AMD were trying to bump the clocks.
This one looks like some kind of Prototype A1. What is unusual, it has 2x 6 pin when all other samples have 6+8 pin power.

I'm in China. I'm not sure if you can open the link.
This is the link of 8800GTS(G80):

I had one of those G80s. Was a 64bit EFI GTS with 320 Megs RAM. Would have been slower then the 8800GT we got based on G92.

But the slot thingy did fit perfectly in a Mac, was real Apple development card

2900XT would be fun to get rom from

I'm glad to see your reply. Not only me have seen these rare cards.
Can PC G80 cards be flashed with the G80's EFI rom? Just the 320M can be flashed or both of 320M and 640M?
Can you send the rom to me? Thank you very much. My E-mail adress is gugule@163.com

^^^Not much of a rarity it is. Just regular Mac & PC Edition. Does not even support OpenCL 1.0, useable as much as 2600XT nowadays.

Rare 3870 is the "Silver Arrow". Apple was going to make a nice one with 4 wire fan, dual slot cooler. Instead we ended up with the single slot blue one with 2 wire fan that roared. I managed to get a Silver Arrow but it is sadly dead. But interesting to see what might have been. In Windows, 3870 has OpenCl, OS X never got it.

The Quadro 4000 for Mac EFI has LOTS of mentions of GTX480. I guarantee that somewhere out in the world are some GTX480s that were tested in Cupertino but rejected for some reason or another.

I also got ahold of a AMD7950 that was an Apple test card. Was called "Monica" for some reason. Had an early EFI on it. These fun cards show up every now and then. I would really like to get one of those 2900XTs. For a brief while I tried to write an EFI for them but gave up.

I got it. I'm also interested in these apple cards.
But sadly, the cards' price is so expensive. The HD2900XT is RMB1000, that's $161. Or they just blong to collectors, like 666sheep said.
I am going to buy a HD7950 PC card and flash it. Many people have succeeded. And HD7950 is relatively cheaper.

You would need to install 10.5 to get 2900xt working.

Really? So, I give up having one card of this kind.
By the way, are you the administrator of netkas forum? I have tried to apply for membership of netkas forum for three times, but none of them succeed.
