Hello. I have been busy learning about videography, and it seems that a lot of people recommend ditching iOS's built-in photo/video app, and instead using something like Filmic Pro.

Have any of you used this app for shooting video on your iPhone?

If so, what are your thoughts?

My understanding is that image stabilization is only available through the stock camera app. This makes any other app irrelevant for my uses.

I have an iPhone 6S Plus, and I don't think it comes with that feature.

Also, I have heard that Filmic Pro (and other apps) make it way easier to lock the auto-focus, adjust exposure, etc but I don't personally know.

I don't like iOS's photo/video app, because it's a PITA to *quickly* zoom in or zoom out (i.e. with one hand). Also, while you can lock auto-focus, with one tap it gets unlocked, so that's not very reliable.

When I shoot with a camera, I *always* shoot fully manual - can't imagine why anyone would choose differently.

As such, I want to be in charge of what happens when, and have the camera stay out of my way. (Although, it's not like you can adjust aperture and shutter-speed on an iPhone 6S Plus?!)

I bought the App a couple of days ago. It gives you full manual control. It will allow your videos to have a more professional look as you will be able to lock the exposure settings. It is a must have purchase for what you want to do :)

you can record much higher quality video and also have full manual control on all settings (iso, shutter speed, white balance, tint, focus) There is also a paid upgrade for log video that’s pretty impressive.

I have mixed feelings on it so far...

The UI needs work and is difficult to use on a street corner trying to get dialed in before an interview. (It doesn't have to be that hard to use.)

I especially don't like how the Shutter Speed/ISO control works...
