So I haven’t owned an Apple TV since like either the 2nd or 3rd gen from 10 ish years ago.

I recall buying a second one for my folks and set it up for them and they loved it for many years until it eventually became obsolete with the removal of important features such as YouTube

I have a $95 gift card on my Amazon account and am really thinking about getting this offered 2021 4K model.

I know that you can connect your ps4 controller to it to game, but can you also use the ps4 controller to navigate around the tvOS? PS5 controllers work too right?

About Bluetooth accessories; first AirPods and earphones… is the limit 2 ppl with AirPods each when it comes to streaming audio this way instead of conventionally through the tv? Does it have to be Apple branded AirPods or beats? Or can it be my Best Buy branded Bluetooth earphones?

Also. Trackpad and keyboard support- could’ve sworn I heard Apple TV supports both? The keyboard seems like a wonderful thing to have when it comes to seeeching for stuff. The trackpad I’m having a harder time seeing sustained use but I’ve been surprised many times before.

Screen time: I heard applemtv supports multiple accounts same as on macOS and am wondering if Hulu or YouTube time usage on Apple TV when my kid is watching something affects his screen time stats

Am I missing anything else????

The only question I can answer with certainty is that I can connect my Beats Studio Buds and my Beats Fit Pro to my Apple TVs with no issues. The BFP sound awesome on the Apple TV.

As far as I’m aware you can connect any Bluetooth headphones, however if you want to take advantage of Dolby Atmos Spacial Audio then you’d need Apple AirPods Pro/Max.
Not sure if the Beats variety offer that functionality or not.

I don't know about connecting a separate keyboard but you can use your iphone's keyboard for typing out searches, passwords and authentication codes. And all iOS devices have built in remotes you can use. Hope that helps some.

The 64GB version is $130 on Amazon right now. Is it worth it or should I wait until the new version is released later this year?

To answer a few more of your questions (to the best of my knowledge):
  • Game controllers can be used to control the interface. [Updated; thanks antibolo.]
  • As noted above, non-Apple/Beats Bluetooth headphones can be used, but only one at a time. With AirPlay 2-enabled headphones, you can send audio to a total of two sets. One caveat here is that spatial audio doesn't currently work with two sets of headphones connected.
  • tvOS's implementation of user accounts is severely limited and quite a sore spot, in my opinion. It's not tied into ScreenTime and, worst of all, there's no preventing anyone with access to the Apple TV from accessing any other user accounts or from even limiting access to certain apps. As far as I can tell, all user accounts are really good for is controlling what's in your "Up Next" list. tvOS 16 is supposed to be adding automatic app user switching, though it remains to be seen how this will work and what apps will implemented it.

Yes, you can control the entire UI with a game controller. Not sure why the person above me is saying otherwise, they are incorrect.

It supports all PlayStation and Xbox controllers from the latest two generations, plus Nintendo Switch controllers in the upcoming OS 16. Oh and native MFI controllers of course, but at this point nobody cares about them anymore, lol.

I think I remember using a PowerA Switch controller with an Apple TV, but it's been a while so I may be misremembering
