Hello!
I got the new MBP with touch bar.
yesterday i noticed that at some ports cables aren't able to engage ! Only at the upper right one cables get engaged properly. I took a look at the ports and noticed that they are differently constructed. Is anyone having the same issue with it or are my ports already damaged ?

Thank you in Advance

  • If you were to try the power cable in each port, does it fit?
  • Do you have a picture of the different construction?
  • Is the computer still under the 14-day return window?

Hello,

The Cable fits in all ports. It only doesn't snap properly in on both ports on the left and in the right 2nd one. Only in the 1st one on the left it does engage so you can hear that sound. I'm asking myself if it is supposed to be that way or if my ports are already damaged i didn't notice anything at first to be honest

Others have reported this before. You might do a search to see the thread. I believe the net was that they are designed that way.

You could try the USB ports on a store-display MBPro. If that works the same, then you can consider it to be normal.

For what it's worth, on all four ports on mine the cable snaps equally tight into place, so maybe take DeltaMac's advice and go check one out at a store.
