iPad Having issues with actual Apple chargers

Okay so I can’t figure this one out. I try using an Apple charger to charge my iPad Pro 9.7 and it’s touchy. I have to push it all the way in and hold it there (sometimes it’ll stay if I just let it be and gently put it down) for it to charge. I put it back just a tad and it stops. I have an aftermarket charger that I’ve had for a year and charges the iPad just fine.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is the way it is?

Edit: I have tried 1 used Apple charger and 2 new ones as well as two iPad charging adapters. No luck. Adapters work fine with the aftermarket charger.

The problem dont seem to be the charger,its just that the Apple chargers don't fit your socket well enough.

That’s weird. They have worked in the past but don’t now. I first thought the charging port went but then the aftermarket worked fine, so I don’t know.

To me it sounds like you have some gunk and build up in your lightning port on the device. I had this happen back when I had my iPhone 6+. Just probably needs cleaned.

I looked inside of it last night and it’s perfectly clean. I took a toothpick and tried to collect anything in there that I might be able to see and I didn’t find anything.

Dust in the port does not explain why one charger works and the other does not. Could just be a bad charger. Take it to Apple and they will replace it.
