Having major problems with Sims 2.

So, I decided to buy the Sims 2 and some of the expansion packs. The glamour stuff, family fun stuff and pets all work fine, then I purchased night life, open for business and university. For some reason after installing them, when I load them a notification appears informing me a required resource is not found and to reinstall sims 2, which when I go to do, another notification appears saying I have insufficient privileges to do this, but I am the administrator.
Hope someone can give me some advice on this! I've tried adding patches and uninstalling everything and reinstalling them in order... the list is endless.
Please help!😕

first 'fix disk permissions' with disk utility, Then if needed, reinstall sims2 in order

What version of the OS are you running?

I just want to add that TS2 work great for me,

I have: TS2, University, Nightlife, & Open For Business (Installed in that order)

iMac (Late '06) Intel Core 2 Duo, 10.4.11
