Hey guys, I'm new here.

What I want is to be on the move and send my Mac an email and have it perform a task. Maybe Automator will be watching Mail and if it sees a certain command it will start playing music, open an application or pretty much anything I want. Is this possible? Maybe it's not an email, but a different application with a control app on my iPhone.

In another forum someone suggested VNC, but I want to be able to do things when I'm on the train or at the airport, etc...

Thanks!

When you can send mail, you can also access a VNC setup.

Doing what you want via Mail would seriously compromise security, what if others send emails and those execute some commands that could harm your Mac?

Look into remote control via VNC, there are even apps for the iPhone.
