I had the Sport, and sold it on Craigslist (the day before they were available in the store) to upgrade to the SS. So glad I did. The weight, look, and the seamless look with the majority of the 3rd party band adapters made it worth it to me in the end. Not to mention the sapphire.
Exactly why it's all personal choice.

I went the other way around- had SS milanese loop and leather band, but exchanged for space gray sport w/sport band. I prefer the lighter weight and matte finish style. I also like the sport band.

Have to just try for yourself. Online reviews, pictures, opinions did not really compare to actually wearing the Watch. Plus all of our wrists are different so what may look great on yours, might not match my style, etc...

So glad I only discovered this thread today - as I sold my SG Sport and bought a SS WSB. After several weeks of desiring the SS I finally caved in after discovering a scratch on the SG screen. That and it was my birthday upgrade gift to myself. :)

Thanks for the answers guys. I'm leaning for 70-80% towards the SS version now. If it feels that more premium I believe I'm willing to spend a little more on it, even though it's a first gen. Either way, I will check them out in the Apple Store before I make my final decision.

Expect a photo soon in the "show off your Watch" thread ;-)

Thanks again!

Looking at the watch in store I was utterly convinced the sport would be a major compromise for me but I didn't really want to spend as over £500 on a watch. For weeks I thought I'd wait until the second generation. The I went and looked again and the more I looked the more I liked the sport (the silver one; the space grey is too dark for my taste) and eventually I ordered one (with a white sport band). I really, really like it. I now have the Milanese loop as well which is great for when I want to look a bit smarter.

Basically, I realised that although the stainless steel one is aesthetically very, very pleasing it just looks too smart for me. If I still wore business suits it would be my first choice, but I don't so it's not.

Go for the SS version. I had the Sport version for 3 days and the screen scratched easily, sold it and bought the SS instead.

Good choice. I wouldn't advise everyone to spend the extra for the SS, but the mindset you have now is the same I had when I originally ordered a SGS on April 10... then after a week with that watch I just couldn't get the SS out of my mind, and I found that I just really didn't admire the look of the dark aluminum. I exchanged for the SS with black leather loop and couldn't be happier (except that now I'm obsessing over the link bracelet... Haha).

I was stuck between the two, and decided I liked the look of the black watch better, and prefer it to be lighter. If I could upgrade to the SS Black watch for $200, I would probably do it, but the fact that it's like a $700 upgrade is a bit too much for me (I don't even like the link band.)
