Hi all-I am trying to download MySql for my Mac Book Pro, running os 10.5-

Has this happened to any of you? I go to the MySql.com website, to the downloads page etc. I find the version I need, pick the mirror and then, they say that they need more info from me. I signed up, filled out all of their forms,
got the email with my user name and password. I went back, signed in and still, everytime I try to download I get a screen telling me that they need more information, and I am presented with the same form that I have filled out before-and, I am totally logged in!

Help-are there any other places where I can download MySql 5 for os 10.5?
thnx!

If its for developing websites try MAMP it provides a SQL server, Apache server and PHP server in one package.

ok, first i second MAMP, it makes it SO much easier to set up.

but to answer your question, on this page:

http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.1/mysql-5.1.34-osx10.5-x86.dmg/from/pick

which is the 'sign up!' page, at the very bottom it says:

» No thanks, just take me to the downloads!

click that link and you are gold.

Wow, a dmg file... I've seen others try to install patched Linux binaries. This is 100% awesome!!!!! Must be the 5.1.34 Community version for those following. I need to add this immediately to my sticky topic of links here on the forum.

indeed, sometimes there is more skill in finding download links than actually using the product you want... ;-)
