Is nobody facing the same issues as mine in image editing? Bridge and ps are no go. Having the issues with the xt5700 in the back of my head. Not all that techy, is this even related? What is, to problems with reviewing images?
Havent testet

Selective color in PS: The top color - cyan, is dredfull laging, not even kidding, and all the rest are making the picture disappear when adjusting.....
Its much better when zoomed out to 50%. Its like its to heavy to process for something. Is it the graphic card? Sometimes its so slow, that I need to release the adjustment slider and wait for it to take effect.

Need more testing. But have already experienced that everything slows down after some minutes editing. Need to close down everything. The GPU in istat is up to 100% almost straight away. But have read that that would be normal.

Gradient fill doesnt look any prettier..

On top of this, is the grinding noise of the fan at startup. But, cant hear it at full blast when manually adjusting the fan in mac fan control.

How can I know that this may be a software, adobe fault? Its the main purpose for this machine...... Could I run a test of some sort?

i7, 1tb, 64gb ram (have tried w stock) xt5700 16gb.

You can test by plugging in an external monitor. If the glitches are on the monitor too, it's a gpu problem. Otherwise it's an imac display panel issue. You can also disable gpu acceleration in Photoshop Preferences-->Performance-->Use Graphics Processor.

No matter what the problem is, you have a lot going on there. If you're within the return window I would swap it for a new one. If not, AppleCare. I know it sucks to send a machine out but it seems like defective hardware to me.

Ok its returned. But would be really happy if others with photoshop could report back. But if it had been a problem Im pretty sure it would be heard off..

Lightroom was ok. Have read that it dosent use much of gpu. But photoshop on the other hand does. So is the problem on this spesific machine, the entire 5700xt or adobe.
Dont know if i'll take the risk on another 5700xt 16.

imac 2020, gpu on/off did not fix the issue (restarted photoshop)
imac 2012 got worse, and actually gave the same problems. Gpu on, it ran "100" times better than imac 2020.

Im questioning my so called upgraded... 🤦‍♀️ Considered imac pro, but have read some problems with the vega 56 as well. Only need 8core.

Trashing my desire for some smal games. All I need is editing photoshop/lightroom/capture one and a a good silent machine.
Would 5700, or evn 5500 be ok

Photoshop and Lightroom don't require a heavy gpu at all unless you use 3d filters or AI features a lot. Even the Radeon 5300 would be fine.

The cpu doesn't matter a whole lot either. The i7 is only 7% faster than the i5-10600 for games and photo editing and the i9 is even worse at only 8% faster. This will vary depending on audio channels, photo filters, physics, etc. However, if you do lots of importing in Lighroom/Capture One or do any 3d rendering, the i9 is 50% faster than the i5-10600 (i7 is 33% faster).

My recommendation (as a professional vfx artist and system builder) is the i7, 5500 XT gpu and 64GB ram. Feel free to upgrade any of those of course because you may need it in the future.
