Carrier Having two iPhones how to back up

So I don’t have enough cloud data what’s best way to send pics between phones without having to reset and restore each time? AirDrop? Send iMessage? Ideally without losing quality as Facebook messenger compresses everything?

I had my last phone stolen could I say wipe the iPhone and restore each time I come back from holiday is is there an easier way?
