HBO Max app totally non-functional

Anyone else having issues with the HBO Max app? I only subscribed two months ago but ever since last week the app has been completely non-functional with my 4th generation Apple TV. It started with episodes freezing upon resuming and needing to restart the app every single time I loaded it. Now it doesn't work at all. Episodes stop playing ten seconds in, the app crashes, episodes restart from the beginning even though they were paused half-way through. What is going on? I realize this may be a question for HBO rather than Apple, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems.

Yes, similar issues force closing it before you use the app seems to resolve most issues.

YES! I've been having issues with it also....thought it might be the last ATV update but not sure. Have re-installed but issues persist. Find that I have to 'quit' the app (Flik up using ATV remote) now and again to get it to work properly. I also have an older ATV: ATV HD but newer Samsung TV and good internet connection. Doesn't happen with the other apps on the ATV though.

There was a recent update to the app but it made no difference; still can't watch anything.

I've been watching HBO Max in my browser recently but today I'm even having trouble with that. So at least it's not just a problem with the Apple TV. This service just sucks and I will unsubscribe as soon as I'm done with this one show 😅

I suggest quitting the app each time. Only thing that works for me. Yet, wonder if this is something about (if possible) HBOMax wanting us to subscribe in a different manner? Or will be changing how we subscribe in the future? Lots of large companies play these types of games.

Just watched Those Who Wish Me Dead and playback was perfect with 4K DV.
