If you already have the account created, you should be able to just log in to the app on your phone (no need to enter name, zip, etc), there is a log in option.

If you haven't, try creating the account on your apple tv, and then just use that account to login on your phone.

I've tried all that. I can't get passed the loop. When I called HBO about it, I was told I was one of many, and to just wait it out.

On a whim, I tried it again. Suddenly, no loop, and everything works. Weird, but cool. Of course I did just upgrade to 8.3.

I don't own a television set. How can I use Apple TV

Is it possible to hook-up Apple TV to my 27" iMac? Or is it possible to hook-up my iPhone 4s to my iMac.

Watching HBO Now on my iPhone 4s isn't very appealing.

TIA

Hook up, no. But you can airplay from the iPhone or Mac to your ATV.

But why bother. Use the HBO app on the ATV.

yeah its only streaming which is disappointing to me. so lets say you are a boxing fan, you will have to watch the fight in a day or two depending when they upload it for streaming. Sometimes they have live comedy shows or concerts and you wont be able to see them live (from what I have heard).

This is completely false it will work just like HBOgo. HBOgo series were up at the same time, or it took less then 5 minutes to be ready to view. It was the same with live events. There is no live events channel, but all you do is click the the title of the event after you find it and it's ready to watch. So at the latest you are 5 minutes behind. It's been like that since almost the beginning of HBOgo.

The first month or so HBOgo came out Game of thrones took about an hour, but they kept getting quicker.

You can go to hbonow.com and watch from your browser.

I do NOT own a television set. I don't want to own a television set. Netflix works fine on my 27" iMac. Why can't HBO Now work like Netflix?

I know that Apple TV/HBO Now is a profit center for Apple, and I'd gladly pay $100.00 for an adapter that would allow me to run HBO Now (and ONLY HBO Now) on my iMac.

Amazon has a streaming service that only works on Kindles, Smart Phones, Tablets and some TV Sets.

Meh!

I... what? Oh, you wanted to use your iMac as a monitor for the ATV. Not possible.

But why not just run HBO Now directly on the iMac? You can do that just like Netflix.

How old is your iMac? If it's the very first or second generation of 27" iMac, with DisplayPort (instead of Thunderbolt, the 2009 and 2010 models,) you can use its Display-in capability (which Apple calls Target Display Mode) with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter to plug in any device, such as a game console or set-top box. (Yes, even an AppleTV.)

The newer, Thunderbolt-equipped Macs cannot do this, though.

HBO Now *IS* available via web browser, though. You'll need to create the account on an AppleTV, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch within the HBO Now app, but once you have done that, you can watch in a web browser via hbonow.com

Thanks for the info.

Thanks, Anonymous Freak! This is the info I needed. My iMac is a late 2009, so TDM should work.

...They put their series on the service within an hour of broadcasting it.

Not quite..I "tuned" in to Bill Maher Live last night at 8:00 and the current show was not there as of 11:00 pm last night; it was there this morning, however. So bit of a lag so far.

The Game of Thrones Season 5 is live on time, for anyone who want to know.

Will shows, series and movies be instantly available at the same time as they arrive on broadcast HBO and HBO GO?

Yes. New episodes of original programming and theatrical films will become available on HBO NOW at the same time that they premiere on HBO. Live programming and some other programs have a delay...

I'm not happy with HBO. Last summer I tried HBO GO and now this version which is still basically HBO GO stand alone version an ATV. The same movies and TV shows are still available as what was there last summer. I only see a few new additions.

I think I'm going to cancel after my free month. I don't care about Game of Thrones or any of the other series. HBO used to be all about the movies.

Netflix has more choices of what I'm looking for.

All about the movies? That must have been some time ago. The movies are pretty much just an extra bonus. It's all about the series.

So if the series don't interest you it's a waste of money.

Spot on!

I don't know how anyone could not be interested in GOT ;)

there are lots of iTunes resellers out there, but some have complicated ways of buying them, I use miTunes.tv . Have been using them for over a year now and never had any problems, receive a quick email delivery on every order!
