Is anyone else having a ton of issues?

I'm hardwired and speed is plenty.

On most if not all movies, it will start playing for a minute or 2 then crash to the apple launch screen, sometimes it forces a reboot of the Apple TV.

Watching series rarely works, when it does it may queue up the next episode, one maybe 2 times.

The recently watched section rarely if ever updates.

Does anyone else have these issues or is it just me?

Any recommendations?

Googling and searching here didn't turn up anything here (here showed up about 500 results for Showtime).

Thanks!

I have had similar issues the last week or so.

- Movie categories disappear
- Option to resume from last point seems to be gone (forced to start from beginning).
- Sound drops out for 30 secs to 1 minute.

Rebooting fixes some of the issues.

Yep, I've had all those problems and rebooting seems to fix some of it.

I also have an issue of when you pause on HBONow and Netflix as well, after a minute or 2 it kicks you out to the homepage.

I can't tell if it's the app that's garbage or the hardware. If I fast forward a movie, it loses audio-video synch. I'm also now losing my place in shows and movies, which is a huge pain in the ass. I can't wait for the exclusivity period to end early next month and then I can use it on a device I actually like(hopefully PS4).

yea, I'd like to see it on my Roku3, the only thing I use the Apple TV for now is HBO Now.

Fortunately the exclusivity period ends July 7th. I look forward to seeing it on Fire TV, PS4 or Xbox One/360. Apple's rumored delay of their new box has killed any chance of me ever upgrading to it now.

I experience a lot of crashes while watching an episode of a series. Either by manually selecting one, it'll crash after 20 seconds of playback or when doing the auto play next episode it'll crash in the transition knocking me back to the home screen every time. I've contacted HBO Now Help on Twitter 3 times and no reply.

ok, so it's clearly an app issue, Apple has to be hating the failure rate of it. Gonna drive a ton of business from Apple TV once exclusivity goes if the other apps are more stable.

The fact that Apple TV is the worst of the dedicated media devices is also going to drive a ton of HBO Now business away from them. Only reason it's getting the attention it is now is because Apple paid for exclusivity. Apple really needs to get a new box out now that can compete with the others. The other day I found out my Apple gen 2 was worth 130 bucks so I sold it thinking a new box was coming next week, but then it was leaked to not be ready. Yesterday I went to Target to buy the latest Apple TV and then balked at checkout because in my head I couldn't justify paying 65 dollars for a box I knew was awful and has the absolute worst Netflix implementation of any device I've ever used. Apple needs to address this ASAP, because other companies have made it really easy for me to make that decision.

Yep, a buddy of mine has a fire stick with Kodi side loaded, it's cheaper and just plain rocks. I'm hoping Apple updates the hardware, I'm thinking the price cut is either to compete or to remove old hardware prior to a new hardware release.

I have the same issues, the worst is getting booted out to a blank Apple TV screen, waiting for all the apps to reload, then going back into HBO NOW to NOT find the show in my "recently watched"

I've noted, with my experience at least, that this never happens when watching Game of Thrones, John Oliver, or True Detective. I only have these many issues when watching Entourage or Six Feet Under. It's seems very obvious that they must have a different system set up for the new and popular shows, but are leaving the older shows behind in some buggy platform.

If not addressed I'll be switching to the Firestick or continue to watch on my computer through an HDMI cable

I've had very few problems with HBO Now and in fact the only problem I've seen is that sometimes when I select the "Movies" tab it instead brings up "Series." Then I can go back to the main HBO screen and select "Movies" a second time and it goes to "Movies." This has happened maybe two or three times in the last month but frankly I only watch HBO about twice per week (now that I've gotten completely through "Game of Thrones" and "Sex and the City").
