HD editing on new and old iMacs

now that the new iMacs are finally here, i finally have to face reality and choose if i actually want it or not...

...my question is to those of you that do HD editing on the older iMac and not on mac pro's. how well did they perform on FCS and/or premiere? the new ones are a bit better performance wise so thats just icing on the cake i guess.

Well there is going to be a large difference between the quad and non-quad.

haha exactly... i cant afford the 27''... thats why i want to know how well the c2d handles things...

hmmm... i guess if i get the c2d with the dedicated ati card, it should run pretty... maybe not great but at least it wont be frustratingly slower?

actually now that i think about it, ill really only me working with 2d images and slight 3d rendering. I should be good i hope?
