HD Icon not visible anymore

Guys,


I run a leopard iMac 2.0Ghz, somehow the icon of my HD dissappeared. How can I make it visible again?
please help

forgot to tell.... I have lost visibility of the icon in : Desktop, finder

This appears to be a rather annoying but that is affecting quite a few people, including myself. I've since been able to resolve it by following the advice from Francine, resetting object attributes, and trying a few other things.

Ok, one dumb question I am doing the first try with applescript, but what is my hard disk name?? is it the same user as my account or HD Macintosh, default name?

It's whatever you named it, or the default if never changed.
