    Hey all,

I have a G4 quicksilver 733. I already added another ATA hard drive. Now I need more. I was looking at specs online, but I can't quite make it clear. Can I add a SCSI (knowing I need to add a PCI card)?

What I am wondering is does this computer allow 2 ATA drives and a SCSI? Or only 1 ATA in combination with the SCSI?

    Thanks for the help all.

It would probably be simpler and cheaper to go for external firewire drives. They will be quite fast and a lot more flexible.

    external, hummm

The firewire on my mac is 400, will this be annoying or is 400 rather speedy? The USB is USB1 so I don't wanna go that way.

I have checked out external firewire400 drives. There are some rather inexpensive ones, but are they unreliable? Like maxtor, acomdata, and lacie.

    Thanks again everyone.

Firewire 400 is better than USB2. An external FW400 drive would work great.

I've been using a 500gb external lacie drive with me dual 800 quicksilver machine, no problems...
