The HD is my PowerMac MDD Dual 867 is dying and I need a new unit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand to use, and how to go about moving everything from my old drive to the new one?

Thanks

Seagate makes excellent quality drives, and has an excellent warranty as well, not matched by most other HD manufacturers out there. I would stay away from Maxtor, I've had too many bad experiences with them. WD is good as well.

And another vote for Carbon Copy Cloner - excellent little app!

I have been having a WD 80GB drive in my PC for 1.5 year and it runs at room temp......can't feel any heat   Have been down to 0bytes free several times and have been under a gig for 6months and it just runs and runs   :D

Then now I just got a 300GB Seagate, OK it runs a bit hotter but it sort of should......Both are good.......think the Seagate is quieter but I can't say how much bashing it can take......Recommending both....WD and Seagate ;)
