Seagate makes excellent quality drives, and has an excellent warranty as well, not matched by most other HD manufacturers out there. I would stay away from Maxtor, I've had too many bad experiences with them. WD is good as well.
And another vote for Carbon Copy Cloner - excellent little app!
I have been having a WD 80GB drive in my PC for 1.5 year and it runs at room temp......can't feel any heat Have been down to 0bytes free several times and have been under a gig for 6months and it just runs and runs
Then now I just got a 300GB Seagate, OK it runs a bit hotter but it sort of should......Both are good.......think the Seagate is quieter but I can't say how much bashing it can take......Recommending both....WD and Seagate
