HD>Library>ApplicationSupport folder hidden

Hey!

The Application Support folder in my HD>Library folder has suddenly become invisible. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Also, what is the best way to see hidden folders in this Application Support folder? Thanks!

"chflags nohidden [path]" makes stuff visible. You can also set the Finder to show hidden files and directories if you want everything visible.

Thanks for your response! I tried this (using "sudo chflags nohidden") on a number of folders (/Library, Application Support) but the only response to the command came when I dragged the icon for the /Library into Terminal. I got a response that I did not have permission, although it never asked for my Admin password.

That's extremely weird. "sudo" should give you root access. Could you write here exactly what you wrote in the Terminal when you got that response? Or attach a screenshot of the Terminal?
You could try initiating a superuser session instead.

First run "sudo -s" (password required)

Then the chflags command on the folder or file.

The sudo -s command logs you in as the super user, instead of just running a single command as super user

You posted in El Capitan forum so I'm assuming you are running El Capitan. I would download the El Capitan installer from the App Store and run it over your current install.
