HD problem

I recently bought a HD of ebay like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/HITACHI-2-5-120...ryZ42184QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
And I tried installing it and I got a flashing question mark folder, so I put my old hard drive back in now, it's not even booting. Any help would be appreciated

Did you even try installing OS X on it?

It's working now, when I looked inside the hard drive bay there was these rubber piece blocking the connection, it must have came off, I think it's suppose to protect the hard drive from shaking or from vibration. Should I put the rubber piece back in? It seems too snug when I try to put the hard drive in with it. I'm using carbon copy cloner to clone my old hard drive into the new one.
