i am looking to upgrade my harddrive to something a little more powerfull. my main question would be that i've heard that seek time is important. the problem is i do not know what classifies as an impressive seek time.

eg. what would be the best seek time available to a consumer.

also: is it worth getting a 10,000 RPM HDD? everybody talks about hte 7,200 ones but i rarly see mentions of the first one?

    anythoughts

The 10,000 RPM drives were significantly better at one time, but now the more recent larger drives have narrowed the gap. If you need a lot of space, then the 10,000 RPM drives aren't for you. What size were you thinking?

You can get a external 320gb Western Digital My Book for less than $90. If you fill that one up, buy another.
