I tried searching this forum as well as Google but to no avail...

Does :apple:TV stream HD YouTube videos? I recently upgraded to a TiVo Premier HD (awesome DVR!) But, unfortunately, it does not stream HD YouTube videos. It makes YouTube look like crap on my 46". I am thinking of picking up an :apple:TV just for this purpose.

    Thanks for any help.

I just went to check this out on my Apple TV because I don't really use YouTube on it that much. So I went to an 1080p video and ran that. It looked really good and looked HD. Then I have that same video in 1080p on my computer and streamed that to the Apple TV, while that looked better it wasn't by too much.

So I don't necessarily say that the YouTube video was HD, it looked good enough for sure and I don't think you would be disappointed.

Yes that is true, the Apple TV will only put out 720p video. But the video I tried on YouTube is available in 1080p, even though it probably didn't use that. I have much experience and can confirm that if you send the Apple TV 1080p video it will play, I assume it downgrades it though.
