i posted a question yesterday and received some valuable and prompt knowledge.

i have another dumb question, as i mentioned preview i have a 27" imac with apple 256ssd and 2TB hdd.

what i want to know is how do i tell if the regular hdd as a partition or partitions on it? and if i does, how do i go about erasing the entire drive include the partition(s).

thanks.

Open Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) click the internal HD on the left and click the Partition tab. If you see two named partitions then it has been partitioned.

If you got the machine new and haven't partitioned it then there is no reason to think it would be partitioned into anymore than 1 partition.
