Hi

Upgrading my standard 320GB to a 750GB. I have backed up my current system with TM, but have no experience restoring from it.

After installing the new HDD, I plan on doing a fresh install of lion from a recovery USB, but I dont want to restore everything on the TM backup, only some, not all applications. Is this possible?

Thanks
Jamie

I don't think this is possible. If I recall correctly it's all or nothing as far as restoring applications goes from a TM backup.

You could try making a clone of your drive with CarbonCopyCloner instead which lets you select which apps/files you want copied/cloned over. This will still leave the preference files and such for those apps you exclude though. You could always search for those leftover files afterward and delete them if you so choose.
