I've got a Sharp Aquos TV (LC-40LE830U) and a Sony Home Theatre system (BDV-E4100) and I'm experiencing an intermittent issue when trying to have both power on together.

When turning the devices on in the morning for the first time, the TV turns on, but the home theatre does not. After manually powering up the home theatre system, both devices power on and off with the TV remote successfully, until the next morning.

Thoughts anyone?

I was having a slightly different issue with a similar setup, where my Siri Remote would sometimes turn on the TV and receiver, and sometimes not. There was no discernible pattern to it, but a reboot of the ATV would always temporarily cure it. Since updating to tvOS 9.1, HDMI-CEC seems to be consistently working.

Earlier this week I disabled HDMI-CEC on all of my devices because it just isn't consistent, and I was getting intermittent signal drop outs since I started using it. I'm guessing my TV or receiver just doesn't handle it correctly.

Have you tried enabling HDMI-CEC again after updating to tvOS 9.1? That seems to have fixed it for me.

Haven't had a chance. I was having issues with signal dropouts on my other devices too, so it's not the Apple TV.
