Looking for a second "lower" resolution monitor to accompany 27" TB display & planning to us HDMI port.

We are booting from a 512 SSD LaCie Little Big external RAID 0 drive, so do have a spare TB port, but ideally want to keep this available for another external backup drive.

Therefore can anyone recommend a good monitor running @ 1650 x 1080 or thereabouts?

We are web developers & want the smaller monitor so we maintain the perspective of what the majority of people see. Whilst the 27" is great for work monitor it is totally unrepresentative of the general browser.

Well, which size do you want?

22": Dell S2240L (21.5" like the smaller iMac)
    23": Dell S2340L or Dell UltraSharp U2312HM
24": Dell S2440L or Dell UltraSharp U2412M (like the older 24" iMac)

That should be what the majority uses. Yet, if it looks great on a higher resolution display, it will look good on lower resolutions, too. Just resize your window to the appropriate width.

And please, don't put "This page is optimized for 1280x1024 displays" on sites, in 2013 with fluid layouts that's just wrong.

Thanks for the reply and had been wondering about a Dell monitor.

We have been building websites since 1995 & even then never stuck a comment about browser size or version on the finished site

Everything we build is now 100% Responsive :)

Just want a second monitor I can run full window that is an "average" size.

Most people today are using laptops and tablets to browse the web. If you truly want to see what the average person sees then get a small 1366x768.
