If this was the best “problem” they had for a new product, I would be very confident in buying one lol.

Anyway, I had my iPad Pro today and I never seen this issue.

Interesting iPad Pro. It is great that Apple did not equip the iPad Pro with a notch or Dynamic Island. I am looking forward to seeing and handling it in person.

However, I look at this as having 1st gen tech in some ways, i.e. the tandem OLED screen, and I prefer to wait another generation for the flaws to surface, and eventually be ironed out.

It's by no way a 1st gen in terms of hardware in any perceivable way other than the enhanced 3 nm cluster node from TSMC - which is a direct successor to the first gen 3 nm chip design they did previously e.g. in the M3
OLEDs have been on the market for a decade in huge volumes and having two of them stacked doesn't bring any further complexity other than the assembly process - which should be manageable.

HDR Bug Impacts OLED iPad Pro, Apple Working on Software Fix

Well, this is exactly what I meant about flaws surfacing in products introducing new techologies, i.e. the "2014 iPad Pro models" are the 1st generation of Apple products to have M4 chips and tandem OLED panels.

Edit: Based on initial reports, it seems that this problem lies within the image-processing engine, which would make it a M4 chip problem. In any case, let us hope that Apple will release a software fix ASAP.

I can confirm this same bug also affects the mini-LED iPad Pro model (M1 12.9”). I noticed it in blues very clearly while watching X-men 97. I can’t find any info to suggest Apple is aware that the mini-LED is also affected. How can we alert them?
