Hey guys, forgive me on this I have searched all over and can’t find a clear answer. I have the Samsung KS8000 that I believe has HDR10 support, however I read in a post somewhere that Samsung was updating it to also support Dolby Vision. Does anyone know if this is true? As well I see most of the movies for HDR use Dolby Vision for HDR,so if my TV does HDR10 only does that mean I won’t see HDR for those movies? Thanks for the help and insight!

As far as I know, Samsung isn't going to be support Dolby Vision anytime in the future. They are teaming with Amazon on the HDR10+ format that is dynamic (Dolby Vision is also dynamic). So as far as I know, no, they will not be supporting it. Sony I believe is the only one trying to roll it out (A1E OLED, Z9D, X940E, and X930E) and LG currently has it on their 4K TVs (that support it).

Awesome. Thanks for that! So Im guessing movies that are in Dolby Vision wont display HDR on the tv then?

My guess is as good as yours, but I believe some movies do say Dolby Vision or HDR. I don't know if the movies that have DV also carry an HDR10 file, we'll just have to wait until Friday for that. I'm hoping the DV versions carry both!
