Hi! I have an iMac 2012 without hdr.
If I play a mkv video with hdr or dv, it shows dark.
I have this mkvs with hdr or dv to play it in a LG C1 tv with hds and dv, but I want to play it in my mac too. There is an option to play hdr/dv videos on an old iMac well? Maybe a software with false hdr or something?

Thanks, and sorry for my english.

I don’t think the 2012 iMac display supports HDR content. You need a display which supports HDR content.

No, its SDR only. But I want to find something (player or software) they just play hdr videos with good brightness, a fake or false hdr, because hdr videos shows so dark in sdr screen

iirc IINA does this but don't quote me on that. I know Quicktime definitely translates HDR into SDR but format support is low with that one so you might have to convert your files
