I'm using a 1080i/60i Sony HDV camera and Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 in Leopard.

I changed all of my audio/video settings to be appropriate for this setup:

Sequence: HDV 1080i 60i
Capture: HDV
Device Control: Sony HDV

The problem is, whenever I go to log and capture, Final Cut Pro crashes. The camera is my school's and I don't normally capture HD footage.

The only method I've found to work is to use the Apple Intermediate Codec...but it didn't allow me to batch capture (?) and is taking FOREVER. Is it true that FCP 5.0.4 can't work properly with Leopard and/or HDV footage?

I'm particularly concerned because I plan on buying a Canon hv20 in the near future.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

I use the intermediate codec with my sony FX1. I capture at HDV 1080i 50 instead of 60, I would try doing that instead.
