HDV Rumors?

I know that this is a Mac Rumors site, but I was just wondering if I could be pointed to some place that looks at where the camcorder market is going. I'm looking to get an HDV camera, but it looks like the the current offerings are due for an update. Or maybe I'm completely off base here. Would it be good for me to wait? How long would I be waiting. Are there any message boards like this one related to HD or camcorders in general?

DVXuser has an "other camera" section of the board. Obviously the bulk of dvxuser.com is about the DVX and HVX, but there is a lot of good general info there as well.

Sony and Canon both have recently released (or have announced soon to be released) new cameras so I wouldn't worry too much about buying a camera now and having a new model come out a week later. 😉 Thankfully not everyone is as secretive as Apple.

Sony and Canon recently put out new HD camcorders, some with hard drives for storing the footage in addition to Mini DV. JVC and Panasonic will make announcements soon. Most of these new cameras will be available before Christmas (some are already shipping). As far as message boards go, I recommend http://www.dvinfo.net as well.
