External monitor I'm looking at has neither audio out or speakers. Is there an inexpensive way to connect external speakers to a macbook pro without the headphone jack or bluetooth?

Most USB DACs don't play too nice with hubs, but it can't hurt to try. You still have another port to plug your hub into.

Which model of macbook do you have. Some like my 2012 rMBP 15
